I forget where these people do this and I don't have this video anymore so I know people will say. "oh it's just a hoax yadda yadda yadda. But nah it is actually.

About two years ago I saw a video and it was like in Africa I think. But for people who have headaches, they cut off a finger to stop thinking about the pain of the headache.....

They cut finger OFF to stop thinking about the headache...so what do they do next to stop them from thinking about the pain of their finger?

Again for those who don't believe me that is totally fine but you must have heard of something like this. I respect all cultures but there are some strange things people do.

Judge Blocks Law Checking Ages Of People In Sex Ads

A U.S. judge granted an injunction which stops a law that requires age verification of people in sex-related advertisements, until a lawsuit challenging the law can be heard in court.

SEATTLE -- A federal judge issued a preliminary injunction Friday to block enforcement of a new Washington state law that would require classified advertising companies to verify the ages of people in sex-related advertisements.

Gov. Chris Gregoire signed the law this year to cut down on child sex trafficking. The law received unanimous approval from the Legislature and had been scheduled to take effect in June, but courts have put its implementation on hold.

The decision U.S. District Judge Ricardo S. Martinez issued Friday stops the law from taking effect until the lawsuit challenging it can be heard in court.

The website Backpage.com and a nonprofit that runs a popular archive of Internet sites asked for the preliminary injunction.

Backpage, which is owned by Village Voice Media, makes millions of dollars a year operating an online clearinghouse for escorts. The company was the main target of the new law.

The Washington law would allow for the criminal prosecution of anyone who knowingly publishes or causes the publication of sex-related ads depicting children, unless they can show they made a good-faith effort to confirm that the person advertised was not a juvenile.

Backpage and Internet Archive argue the new law violates the Communications Decency Act of 1996, as well as the First, Fifth, and Fourteenth Amendments and the commerce clause of the U.S. Constitution.

In his ruling, Martinez found merit in some of their arguments that the state law would conflict with existing federal law. He also drew a distinction between the idea of the law and the reality of its enforcement.

"At first blush, requiring publishers to check identification before publishing an escort ad seems as commonsensical as requiring bar owners to check identification before allowing patrons to enter the door," Martinez wrote.

But he goes on to say there is a key difference between the two because one asks for identification related to conduct and the other tries to impose the rule as it relates to speech. He notes that there is no constitutional right to drink, but there is one for free speech.

Washington Attorney General Rob McKenna disagreed with the ruling and promised to continue to work with lawmakers and county prosecutors on their legal options.

"Rather than fight the selling of children through responsible business practices, Backpage has chosen to fight in our courts those who battle human trafficking. While they are entitled to do that, we will do all that is within our power to see that they fail," McKenna said in a statement.

Efforts to reach Village Voice Media for comment late Friday were unsuccessful.

Democratic state Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles, who sponsored the new law, said Martinez's ruling proves it's time for Congress to take another look at the Federal Communications Decency Act.

"I also disagree that the Constitution provides protections for speech advertising illegal activity," Kohl-Welles said in a statement. "One thing remains clear: We must continue the war against sexual exploitation of children."

Jealous

I got to thinking about this today when my sister-in-law called to tell me she had her house. There was a moment, and I do mean a moment-flash second then my ego wanted to hijack my amigdula and cause me to be angry. I will say that in that split second of thought I smiled at myself for being the observer to what the ego was doing and soon it was sent on its way.

However, I've noticed that many people don't watch their thoughts, they believe they are their thoughts. In this, they tend to act out anytime someone around them gains success, is better at something then they are, or perhaps learn a new skill. My thoughts today are why should so many people be so jealous? What does it serve? What does it really get them? Why should they try to bring someone down who has been successful? Why not simply be happy for the other person's success?

Just some thoughts today, and I'd love to hear from you about your experiences and thoughts.

Biological clock,

I am just wondering why is it that, the more I have had my sleep, the more I feel sleepy. Last weekend, I did not bother to wake up early. And since, it is a weekend, I choose to sleep more than to what is ideal.

To sum it up, I have had a 10-hours sleep. I really feel relaxed that time. But, I noticed, after the 10-hour sleep that I did, still, I feel sleepy. I am quite curious why. Hence, I am thinking, I will not do it again this coming week or else, I will end up again sleeping all day.

How about you, do you also feel the same? Or, do you feel the other way around?

Loud Music

Have you thought about those teenagers who listen to loud music all the time might suffer milder hearing loss? On the car, they might turn up the stereo as loud as they can, I don't know why, maybe that is what everybody is doing, and they felt it so cool.
At home or going out with family, they always wearing those iPod headset, and they might turn the music loud again. Even you trying to talk to them, they might not hear you. With all of these, and a long duration of time, they might have a hearing loss symptom. That's one suggestion. Should we allow them to continue a lifestyle like this?

Anxiety and Panic Attacks

There is one key factor that makes the difference between those who fully eliminate panic attacks from their lives and those who do not.



Many cases that people died in accident such as fire or something like in sea accident are cause by panic if only people manage to be calm and think clearly during the accident they can or may survive it but most of them are getting panic that why people made a huge mistake and cause their lives.

Just like in most of the movies with accident the lead actors take a calm position and can think clearly even if they are in a dangerous situation that way they manage to create a way to survive.

Well I know its hard for us normal people do it in such situation but I hope there will be a curriculum about how to handle our panic in our school so it can minimize the life lose in an some accident.



The key ingredient is not medication, lifestyle changes, or relaxation exercises. It is when the individual no longer fears the thought of having a panic attack. The first time a person experiences a panic attack it can feel like their world is falling down around them. Nowhere feels safe as the anxiety becomes like a stalker lurking in the background.

All that is needed is your willingness to break out of the anxiety cycle. I know it is easy to say. Sometimes we don't why, something can make us feel a little panic. How about you?

Frustrating

I notice some of my friends are type of people who never listen. They usually dominate the conversation and once we want to throw new idea they always said they already knew it. Like reading the book, they only want to read the front page or summary page..They never read whole book and thinking they already know the content of the book from it..It's really hard to deal with them. More difficult if they are our boss since every time we do is always wrong. What do you think? How to deal with those people who never listen?

Choosing Friends Wisely

I have met different types of people in the past. I thought some of them to be real friends but turned out otherwise.

In my dealings with other people, I always remember my father's advice that "we are not at liberty to choose our family members and relatives but we could definitely choose good friends."

That is the very reason why I don't make friends very easily. I observe the people I meet and check who are those I could trust and get along well. The moment I sensed that someone is not a very good influence, I turn away from them.

Who are yours?

Some are politicians, others are actors, some are musicians. But they aren't always celebrities, some are family, former friends, coworkers or employers.

I'm talking about the people who we don't like so much that the mere mention of their name elicits negative reactions within us. We don't even know most of them, nor will we probably ever meet them. But that doesn't matter, we can't stand them anyway.

Of course there are the universal ones.. Hitler would be among these, but it doesn't take a holocaust to earn a person this dubious status.

Decision Making

Decision making is a mental process which results in the selection of an outcome among various available alternatives. I am not a good decision maker because though I can see alternatives but to apply mental process is not always easy.

Yes, there must be a course on decision making. In fact, Herbart Simon won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 1978 on his theory of decision making. According to him, the most sought after ability for a manager is his ability to take perfect decisions. Even in real life, we always face situations where we are bound to take decisions. I am writing a blog post at 2 AM is my decision over sleeping or reading something.

Here, a proper study may not come into picture but only commonsense and ability to think about own betterment will do the job. I think the attributes that you noted above are necessary but only those stuffs will not make a person good decision maker. In fact, no decision can be said to be perfect. We must remember the existence of bounded rationality. Then again, there is a dichotomy of values and facts. The inherent viasness also affects decision making process of a person.


The task of rational decision making is to select the alternative that results in the more preferred set of all the possible consequences. This task can be divided into three required steps:

(1) the identification and listing of all the alternatives;
(2) the determination of all the consequences resulting from each of the alternatives; and
(3) the comparison of the accuracy and efficiency of each of these sets of consequences.

A Concerned Citizen

I was in the grocery store today and there were two females, standing up at the end of the line where you check out. And one female was just saying all kind of things to the other female, un-mentionable things. Telling this female she was on crack, and she was calling Children services, on her because she leaves her child at home alone. She was going on and on with this and the other female wasn't saying anything.

I am saying to myself this is not the place for this. People were just starring at you all. Including myself.

I found out later that it was a family matter, the cashier that was waiting on me was the grand mother (she wasn't saying anything), the female that was doing all the talking and saying all those un-mentionable things was the mother of the person (famale) she was talking at (because she wasn't talking to her) this female was holding a baby about 6-8 months.

Later on the cashier that was waiting on me told another cashier to come and finish waiting on me and she went outside where the other two females had gone.

They had brought the family problem to the grandmother's job. After they all left and went outside the cashier that come to finish waiting on me said
the mother couldn't talk about the daughter because she was on drugs too.

I was glad to leave that place. I am so concerned and worried about the little baby. I wish I could get the baby and take care he/she myself. That child is being brought in an unstable environment.
