How so you define Stress in your life?

Everyday stress may be defined as any form of hardship encountered by a human soul. Stress is any factors which include physical, emotional, social economic or others that require a response or change. It can be positive that makes the person do his or her work well or it may be negative in which the person will have difficulty dealing. Chronic stress can weaken the immune system and the body as a whole of an individual so they are prone to develop diseases and sometimes mental disorders. Stress can be applied therapeutically like in phobic individuals. Sometimes it is accompanied by anxiety which is a subjective experience of an individual characterized by the feeling of apprehension, uneasiness or dread as a result of threats that maybe actual, imagined or misinterpreted by the person.

The Impact of Movies

Such as Super Size Me,Morgan Spurlock’s debut documentary finds its director undertaking an experiment to see what will happen if he eats only food from McDonald’s for an entire month. Along with this stunt, which results in Spurlock gaining more than twenty pounds and experiencing depression and liver damage, the movie also investigates the ways that fast food is marketed, and the culture of poor nutrition and addiction that the restaurants promote.



The film was wildly successful, and immediately helped to re-ignite public concern over the obesity epidemic. Less than six weeks after its release, McDonald’s discontinued the “Super Size” option at all of its locations (though the restaurant would later deny that this move had anything to do with the film), and since then they have made steps to include healthier alternatives on their menu.

Good food at great prices!

Despite having a nice home made burger last night for dinner...Red Robin is sounding pretty amazing right now. I think above all I'm craving their amazing fries or a mouthwatering shake that they tend to have. However, we both know that they are famous for their burgers and they do make pretty tasty treats! I don't always order their burgers when I go there though. Last time I ate there I ordered their chicken ceaser wraps which I got many years ago and enjoyed immensely. I have ordered their burgers in the pass, and really enjoy their turkey burgers.

The only thing I have to say is that the past two times I've been there it seems like I get jipped on the endless fries! I tend to get a small handful, they don't mind bringing another round, but if they could just put a few more on the plate to begin with...it'd be better. I think I'm just really craving fries and this topic didn't help.

Heal and Forgive

Well, it's a long dramatic story; briefly, DH got into a fight with sister Christmas 07 and hasn't seen or talked to her since. DH broke down when his mom started crying about the rift and invited sister to join us over this past weekend for our son's 5th B-day party.

So, it's been almost 3 years since she's been in our lives, but it was like she was always here! I'm so happy it's over and I'm truly hoping this will be a new beginning, for us all. This fight, escalated to his mom and she was cut out completely too, but from Dec 07 to July 09... I really struggle with his family sometimes, as it's very large, very dramatic, very loud, very demanding... they have alot of expectations that really grind on DH and I. We are very quiet, hate drama, some call us reclusive and/or antisocial. But we just like our cozy little life and we hate nothing more than when we are expected to be/do/attend/particapate in stuff that we normally wouldn't or that seems like an obligation. (We DO because we WANT to, not because we're obligated)

Despite all that, coupled with the fact that I don't have ANY family, I gently urged DH to forgive and forget - and finally he did. I have very mixed feelings. Happy because Auntie was very good to our son, he loved being with her and she was one of the closest people to me and was incredibly supportive/helpful to me when our son was born. Happy because our son truly loves Auntie and Cousin. Happy because we don't HAVE to miss events that we want to attend to avoid Auntie.

On the other hand, apprehensive because this has happened before, and history often repeats itself. Dreading the expectations of being 'back' in the family. Afraid people will STILL not accept OUR lifestyle and just let us be and trust we aren't being antisocial - we just don't want to XXX.
Just a vent I guess. Anybody ever healed a huge family rift and moved on happily? Suggestions on success?

Virus protection debate

I was having a debate with the brother-in-law the other day about virus on-line virus protection. He was telling me that he couldn't understand why I paid yearly for Mcafee virus software when he could get other programs for free.

Now I may be wrong on this, but I believe that you get what you pay for and with virus protection, I am better off paying. It updates every day both virus and firewall and I have very little problems, where my brother-in-law's machine started running slow and wouldn't load some programs and a lot of other problems. He had to call out a software engineer who found 75 viruses on his machine, but he still insists that it's nothing to do with his free virus programs that is was just some dodgy sites he came across whilst doing a search. How can he possibly say that? I've done loads of searches and Mcaffee has popped up straight away if there was anything wrong with a site. It could be that he just doesn't want to admit that he was being a little bit "too clever".

I believe this suicide to be a cowards act.



God has the only power to cut off life, I mean he has provided us life yet he has also power to stop our breath. In this world no one is permitted to die because of failure by hanging or popping up medicines which is resulting to overdose and etc... We have to live a life to the fullest, and value it well.

My neighbor is sicked, his bad emotions overpowered his mind. He committed suicide maybe because of heavy stress and trauma. I am not thinking to do things silly... with valid reason I have to tell the world what is the truth behind my failure, I know people are listening out there... I have my friends too... they will comfort me, no need to hide, I look forward to lift my soul in times of difficulties by consulting others. Suicidal is not the answer having failures in life.

I highly recommend a trip to Bass Pro Shops and while you are there, eat at Hemingways, they have a fabulous seafood buffet. Also visit Silver Dollar City and ride the roller coasters!

When looking for accommodations, I would highly recommend the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing or the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Look how beautiful the rooms are!

Do you back up?

I had a fatal crash on my computer about 3 years ago and I hadn't backed anything up at all. I lost all my writing, all my photographs, my address book and it was beyond recovery. I vowed then to back up regularly using in those days, a CD re-writer.

Now though, I have got an external hard drive called ClickFree, that I saw on the shopping channel. All I need to do is to plug it in to the USB port and it just backs up all my files without me having to go and look for them. It takes about 5 minutes a day after an initial full back up that took about half-an-hour.

Alcohol Consumption - Can I Control it??

Today was easy. I’m not such a big drinker that I can’t go from Sunday to Thursday without alcohol. It’s nice to feel sober again, although I was a bit tired today. The problem will come in a few days, when I am fully healthy again and have forgotten how evil that hangover was. Also the real challenges will be the weekends.

I already know I am going to drink this weekend – I’m meeting this really nice girl and if she’s drinking then I can’t just sit there and have juice. It just wouldn’t feel right.

But I will definitely not go to my Friday drinks after work. I usually do that and it usually ends in disaster. Or at least a feeling of intense embarrassment on Monday morning.

So, here’s hoping I make it through the weekend without getting smashed.
