Apple - iPod 5th Generation with Video Playback (30 GB)

My friend bought the 30GB iPod video when it first came out, and promptly dropped it and shattered the screen. Instead of bothering to fix the iPod, she just bought a new one, and gave me the broken one. Another friend of mine bought a new screen from ebay, and replaced the screen. That was over four years ago, and though it's very scratched, the iPod still works perfectly. I've reached the 30GB limit, so I'll eventually trade up for a bigger model. It would be nearly impossible to fill up 30GB with just music, but videos and tv shows take up lots of space, so that's whats filling up my iPod. The only problem I've ever had with this iPod was when the hold button got stuck, but that's probably a result of having opened it several years before to change the screen. The battery life is good, although it's slowly getting shorter as the iPod grows older. The sound quality is great, and it's loud enough to listen to in crowded places.

Express Scripts is the middleman between the pharmacies and the health plan who pays for our medication, Walgreens and Express Script tried until the very end to renegotiate their contract with no budge from the middleman and as a result, as of Jan, 1^st 2012 all express scripts patients had to find a new prescription wellness home or seek other options. However, due to unsuccessful negotiations between Walgreens and Express Script, which had been going on for a whole year, Walgreens is no longer part of Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network.

This review is for the Ipod Touch. I got on as a gift and just love it! It's got thousand and thousands of apps for just about everything you can think imagine. I use it a lot for music and also as an e-book. You can download tons of free books and music using the apps. Also can be used as a global positioning device, to play tons of games, download and watch movies and tv shows and even works as a flashlight!. This device is truly amazing. I use it everyday for all sorts of things. Can program the weather and time. It an even be used as a video phone using Skype. It has a two way camera so it works great for video calls. And it takes fantastic pictures and video , too. I would highly recommend getting one of these. The longer you have it the more you'll end up using it!

I spend most of my time on social networking websites using my laptop. I would use my phone if it wasn’t a pre-paid cell phone. If I had one of these phones, I’m almost sure I would rarely ever use my laptop, well, except to blog. I’m pretty sure that if I had this phone, I would never look up again.

VAIO UX mini laptop

The new Vaio UX Micro PC, which seems more akin to an OQO device than a UMPC. For starters, this unit obviously has a hardware keyboard, which doesn't seem that bad of decision given the difficulty of using current-gen UMPC keyboards. The UX is also powered by a full on Core Solo processor (don't ask us how they got it in there), and runs Windows XP Professional. As rumored, the device also includes Bluetooth, WiFi, WWAN (EDGE connectivity) and a fingerprint reader. Along with the front camera for video conferencing, there is a camera in the rear for snapping pics, and the UX also can plug into a VGA adapter for powering an external monitor. The 4.5-inch screen is capable of a 800 x 600 resolution and accepts stylus input. We're not sure if the UX has another pointer device, but the unit can be docked to allow for desktop use, including VGA, Ethernet, IEEE-1394, three USB 2.0 ports and AV out, so you can use a regular mouse in those situations.

I started out with the Zen V 1 gigabyte model, but as technology got bigger and better I upgraded to the Zen V plus. I didn't think I could like anything more than my liltte Zen V, but then I met the Zen V plus.

The Zen V Plus has everything I loved about my original Zen V, but with a nice perk-Videos! The video quality is amazing! I thought maybe it'd be hard to see since it's a small mp3 player, but the video is really high quality.

I loved the look of my pictures on the Zen V and still love them with the Zen V Plus. There's more room for more pictures which is great. Nothing like having pictures of friends and family when your away from home.

The battery lasts and last, and is really easy to charge in the car or on a work computer. I've never had a problem with the battery. That's a great thing for me because my iPod batteries would go out like crazy and that was a huge pain in the neck!

The Zen V Plus packs quite a punch for a small mp3 player. Plus it's more affordable than an iPod. I've owned a couple of iPods in the past and I'd pick the Zen V Plus over an iPod any day! The Zen V Plus is a great value for the money, you won't regret buying this little mp3 player!

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xmod - This device will awe and amaze you

I was looking for an external sound card for use at work (since I don't want to install anything internal) since my onboard sound has a humming background noise effect+probably doesn't deliver the sound quality that I could get from a dedicated sound card. I realized it would be too cumbersome for a full blown external and came onto this device. I think I paid around $60 shipped for it. Worth every penny. Let me elaborate. I run these through a great set of Sennheiser 280 Pros, and previously HD590s. The 3d effect does not do this device any wonders; when you listen through good headphones, you hear high pitched noises since they pick up all the detail. However, the x-fi crystalizer effect is EXCELLENT. Although slightly harsh at times, it does wonders to open up and make music sound "full". Again, if you don't have quality headphones, you aren't going to notice as much. I listened to the same music through one of my co-workers crappy cans and it sounded NOTHING like it did on my audiophile grade phones, and it did appear to make little difference when on or off. Additionally, I hear complete silence when I mute my sound, no static or noise whatsoever so I know I'm getting a good quality signal. So, to that effect, I would say pass on this if you are expecting wonders out of your $15 set of headphones; you will probably be very disappointed. But for those that are serious about getting a very portable improvement to their sound, and have the headphones to back it up, this device will awe and amaze you.

Apps from The Weather Channel

Lately the weather here in Indiana has made me paranoid. Every other day severe storms invade and wreak havoc wherever they can. So, I was happy to be able to monitor things via my phone when I couldn't be near my TV or PC. Right. Happy until I found out how fickle the Weather Channel's Windows Phone app is.

The first annoyance with it is how slow it is to load, but really that's not too bad when you consider how slow the radar is. I'd say it takes roughly three to five minutes to put it in motion. If you want to zoom in or out, the motion stops forcing you to press the 'play' button again and wait once more for it to load. If you zoom in too far, or out too far, the picture splits into four squares of the same picture making it hard to figure out where you are in relation to the storms.

In comparison, the other night we were up late in an interior closet while tornadic storms slammed the area. I had my Mom's iPhone with the radar pulled up and, minus the actual satellite delay, I didn't have any problems with the same type of app. I zoomed in and out-no fragmented radar, and when I scrolled back to see what was out West, the radar didn't need to be reloaded, but kept its loop in motion, even updating automatically every seven to ten minutes.

You'd think the same company that dominates the OS market would have a better app than this. Bing vs. Google: Google clearly is superior.

Pop Math Lite iPhone app

There are lots of helpful and even educational iPhone apps. Some to me are silly, like the bubble popping app. I love popping packing bubbles as much as the rest of you but "virtually" just doesn't give me the same thrill. On the other hand, Pop Math Lite iPhone app lets kids pop bubbles and reinforce math skills at the same time.

Kids love to play with iPhone apps (and pop bubbles) so why not choose an educational one? Another reason to like it is because it's a free iPhone app. There's a another version available for .99 cents that works with higher numbers but for elementary grades the free is version quite sufficient.

DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC

Like many Verizon customers, I had lusted in my heart for an Apple iPhone. Not badly enough to switch to AT&T mind you, but you get the idea. I had toyed with the idea of going with Blackberry, but truthfully I'm no longer a Blackberry kind of guy. So I started taking note of Google's Android phones. Early models were promising but it wasn't until April of last year when HTC introduced the Droid Incredible that I really thought that the Droid had arrived.

With its Qualcomm 1Ghz Snapdragon Processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB of built-in flash memory and that brilliant 3.7" AMOLED Display and 8MP Dual LED Flash Camera it really grabbed my attention. I was still a few months shy of my upgrade anniversary so I still had some waiting to do.

Interestingly the need to wait worked out nicely for me. The **Android Market **had time to develop and then HTC upgraded the device to the 2.2 version of the Android Operating System (Froyo) and then one day in November I opened an email from Best Buy that told me that if I signed a new 2 year contract with Verizon, this bad boy was mine for nothing more than my signature. Smooth!

So it's been about three months since my Droid Incredible and I became inseparable buds. Mastering the Android OS, particularly with HTC's Sense UI overlay was remarkably easy. I've seldom owned a device that did all that it promised to do and delivered the goods so effortlessly.

If the HTC Droid Incredible has an Achilles Heel at all, it's the standard 1300mAh Lithium Ion battery. While the Incredible may look like a cell phone it's more a small tablet computer. Watching HD video, playing games on a device armed with a 3D chip and using it as a full turn-by-turn GPS unit sucks down 1300mAh pretty quickly. You either learn to manage your resources very carefully, carry around a USB charger or opt for supercharging your Droid with one big *mamma jamma *of a battery. I chose the latter route opting for a **Seidio Innocell 3500mAh Lithium Polymer Battery, **with a matching beefy back door that bulks the device up from its svelte .45" profile to .75". Surprisingly, the Incredible feels better in my big hand with its new mass. But more importantly it's pretty much freed me from any concern about running out of juice during the day no matter how I decide to squander my resources. Very sweet.

The Archos 101 Internet Tablet

We have had the Archos 101 Internet Tablet for about 2 months now. Originally I just was interested in an ebook reader, but this one has so many more features. I have a 10 month old that I still nurse and we plan on having more children. It's great that I can nurse my baby while checking emails or browsing the web, or reading a book or playing solitaire. When you're spending about four hours a day with a newborn on your lap you need something to keep you awake! We have not even begun to tap in to the many features available on the archos.

Pros: Overall the archos is small but has a large screen, lightweight, many activity options with or without internet, supports various apps, supports many ebooks, ebooks are easy to read, will make the carry-on a LOT lighter while flying with kids. Great value for the price!

Cons: Flash player isn't the best yet, hard to find a nice case to protect it, battery doesn't last really long, internet pages can load slowly

If you want this primarily for reading I would get a slightly smaller screen. If you want it for internet and movies it's a good size.

Pandigital Novel Color Multimedia eReader

I received this as a gift from the family. Out of the box, it seems like a simple e-reader. However, I spent some time researching and install the Pandigital Open Platform Kit from their website. After the install, the e-reader is now a full fledged Android tablet. I love it. With the new update, the speed is phenomenal. It runs really fast compared to out of the box. I then installed the Amazon Kindle app for Android, downloaded some books and it works fast. The pages turn fast and clean(even faster than it does on a nook or kindle reader!). I also installed a comic book reader app and can now read all my comic books on the go. The colors are vivid and beautiful. There are tons of other apps I installed and it is great. I can watch youtube, play games, check twitter and check anything else. I can also customize it with any wallpaper and any launcher to make it truly what I want it to be. I would highly recommend this for anyone. I haven't been able to put it down since I got it.

Let's face it. With all the scary malware and virus creeping around the internet, browsing and downloading can be as scary and unpredictable as little Dorothy wandering the forests of Oz. And setting the thing up is a breeze. I downloaded the file (which is pretty large) and ran the install. After Windows 7 throws up the obligatory roadblock to make sure you want to run the file, it takes just a few clicks to have your computer guarded from all the bad stuff that wants to eat its lunch.

The interface is simple to navigate, though it might look a bit intimidating. That's because it turns most everything on by default and most folk will do well to leave it at that. BUT, if you are a bit on the geekish side, one click will get you to lots of bells and whistles and sliders to mess around with and exercise your inner micro-manager. The main screen has three main settings, Computer Protection, Network Protection and Web Protection. There are 3-4 buttons in each of those sections, turned-on by default, to make adjustments. If you want, you can access the multitude of slider bars by clicking on Settings on the main screen. Click on Performance, and the screen will do a 360, giving you access to more graphs than a trigonometry book, including one that shows you how much CPU and memory usage you are experiencing while running a scan. Pretty sure of itself, right?

The protection from viruses and malware is excellent, with PC World magazine reporting that, in tests, Norton blocked 24 of 25 real-world threats and over 98.7% of all known malware samples.. Nothing is perfect, but Norton is pretty close. It also provides access to Norton Online Family to control monitor what your kids see online, Norton Safe Web, which allows you to input a web address and it will address the validity and safeness of the site BEFORE you go there. For a $25 yearly fee, there is also Norton Online Back Up which, once set up, allows you to one-click save your important files to the cloud.

The Norton suite also provides a software firewall that can either compliment or replace Windows Firewall and Norton Identity Safe password manager that will remember you passwords on websites so you don't have to. The one downside to this feature is that, so far, I haven't been able to get it to work with Google Chrome.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Norton Internet Security 2011 isn't a major upgrade from 2010, but probably one worth having. The interface is slick and easy to use. It scans all downloads quickly and tells you if they are safe, provides painless, yet effective real-time protection from viruses and malware and updates with the lastest definitions every few hours. Yes, it's kinda spendy at $70 for a year, but it is good for up to three PCs and you get to "set it and forget it". Everyone and I do mean EVERYONE should have Virus, Internet and malware protection. Not having that on your PC and/or laptop, especially with today's "always on" internet is akin to leaving your front door unlocked and placing a sign in your yard that says, "Door's Open! Come on in! ANYBODY!". Believe me, there are plenty of unwelcome guests trying to get into your computer everyday. Install and use Norton Internet Security 2011

I love taking photos

I love taking pictures whenever we are visiting new places, actually even if we move to a new place I also want to take pictures in its famous landmarks...coz we are not going to stay there forever and its one good way of preserving some memories about the place.

I love taking photos with magnificent sceneries as background and also famous spots in my traveling places like statues, tower, park etc. But I have to taking photos at sign board showing name of the place as background, normally I would put in the first page of my photo album. How about you? Where's your favorite photo taking spots when traveling?

My Little Dog

This morning I took my little Dog Gissi out like I do every Morning, we are walking along, and as little Male Dogs (or big ones) he lifts his Leg to have a Pee, next thing I knew, this old Lady was poking him with a Stick, telling him not to pee on her wall confused, I ask her to stop poking my Dog, she says not till he stops peeing, I then ask her what her Problem is, since when there is a law that Dogs are not allowed to pee on walls, and also what am I suppose to do stop him peeing altogether? She then says to me, it is not the Dog, it is the owner, I looked at her confused and said, " I am not peeing on your wall." She tells me not to get cheeky, well that did it, I am only just slowly getting my Strength back from being very sick, I did not need this, now I have been brought up to respect my eldest I always do, but this Lady was going to far, she was still poking Gissi with the stick, so I told her not to bother starting on me and to stop poking my Dog, I then walked away as I could not trust myself to say more, ( if my Grandmother would been there and heard me, lol, I would have got a clip round the ear and then she would have given the Woman what for) I did not want to I feel awful now, but it is bad when People who do not care for Animals start having a go about a Dog peeing on the wall, Gissi is a rescue Dog, he was badly beaten in the past and I was also worried that he might turn on the Lady with her poking him like that.

I have to be honest I felt like taking the Stick of her and poking her with it see how she liked it. Now okay when they have a poo clean it up I always do, but are we suppose to carry bucket of water and cleaning stuff now as well to clean up when they pee I have to be honest though, as I watching Gissi that he does not turn, it did not seem to bother him, but he did keep the Leg lifted longer then needed and was looking at the Woman.

Drop Out

Kind of feeding off from another discussion about teenagers, I often think of this: I surely hope my children don't ever want to drop out of high school. I want them to graduate from HIGH SCHOOL-not drop out or get kicked out and end up at a continuation school or only getting their GED. I believe that high school teaches responsibility and dedication, as well as learning to deal with peer issues, understanding punctuality, etc. I am not a fan of continuation school because the state mandates far less work and structure from its students, not to mention many times "problem students" attend because they could not make it work in the regular high school setting. I think allowing your child to drop out of school shows that it is not important to strive to do your best, or it is OK to mess up because there is always something else to fall back on. Am I old-school for the way I think? I think maybe I am uneducated nowadays with how schools work, and maybe it is a lot harder for a teen to truly succeed in high school, resulting in the reasons more kids either do drop out all together, or go the continuation or GED route.

I avidly watched the show Three Rivers that was about transplantation and organ donation and I already miss it. I'm hoping that they decide to bring in back in the spring because I thought that it was a truly great show and I learned a lot of things from it. Besides that, I feel that it brought the importance of organ donation into a light that most people didn't already know.

So, let's look at it this way: say you know you're about to die in an hour but some of your organs are still functional and may still be used for transplant to the dying patient in the hospital room next to yours. A representative approaches you telling you could donate an organ say the heart or the kidney.

Would you be willing to give it?

If it happened to me, I would. I think donating an organ is one of the best ways to bring an end to ones' life, as we can share part of our entire life's blessing to other people who are in need. I know some religions forbid such an act, but in mine it's OK and I'm glad about it.

The craziest Craigslist ads ever!!!

Not too long ago, one of my friends on facebook posted a link to a Craigslist ad that she saw in her city. This ad was a response to the fact that you see so many people that are getting rid of their pets because they are expecting a child. I actually copied and saved the ad because I thought it was so funny and I knew that it would get removed. Here it is:

Please help! After two long years of being on a waiting list for a dog, we have been notified by breeder that, at long last, our number has come up and . . .

WE ARE HAVING A PUPPY!

We must get rid of our children IMMEDIATELY because we just know how time consuming our new little puppy is going to be and it just wouldn't be fair to the children. Since our little puppy will be arriving on Monday we MUST place the children up for adoption this weekend!

They are described as:

One male -- his name is Tommy, Caucasian (English/Irish mix), light blonde hair, blue eyes. Four years old. Excellent disposition. He doesn't bite. Temperament tested. Does have problems with peeing directly in the toilet. Has had chicken Pox and is current on all shots. Tonsils have already been removed. Tommy eats everything, is very clean, house trained and gets along well with others. Does not run with scissors and with a little training he should be able to read soon.

One female -- her name is Lexie, Caucasian (English/Irish mix), strawberry blonde hair, green eyes quite freckled. Two years old. Can be surly at times. Non-biter, thumb sucker. Has been temperament tested but needs a little attitude adjusting occasionally. She is current on all shots, tonsils out, and is very healthy and can be affectionate. Gets along well with other little girls and little boys but does not like to share her toys and therefore would do best in a one child household. She is a very quick learner and is currently working on her house training. Shouldn't take long at all.

We really do LOVE our children so much and want to do what's right for them.

That is why we contacted a rescue group. But we simply can no longer keep them.

Also, we are afraid that they may hurt our new puppy.

I hope you understand that ours is a UNIQUE situation and we have a real emergency here! They MUST be placed into your rescue by Sunday night at the latest or we will be forced to drop them off at the orphanage or along some dark, country road. Our priority now has to be our new puppy.

This is one of those movies that you hope will be good and live up to the commercials. Only as it continues you find yourself mentally working on a list of things to do around the house or what you still need to do at work. And before you know it you have wasted 2 agonizing hours of your life!

That is how this movie went. The actors have no chemistry and the story lines drag. The movie never gets going and the actors struggle to deliver their bunch lines. It is almost as if they only agreed to do this movie for the paycheck.

To put this in prospective, this is not a movie that you can see over and over again and expect it to get funnier. As Jack Nicholson once said "It is as good as it gets".

Crazy if you think about seeing this movie!

Stupid if you bought a ticket against your better judgment, because you will not Love it!!

Well in next few sentences I will be discussing what had happened to me an year ago. I don't know how I fall into an allergic disease which troubled me a lot. I got the problems in my nose.

When ever I inhale some dust, I start sneezing!!!

In the morning when I used to wash my face and if any drop of water enter into my nose, then again sneezing start!!!

Even when I used to listen song with head phone, the sound entering in my ears resulted into continuous sneezing!!!

Finally I went to an ENT specialist to have some treatment. He just gave me a tablet to be taken one in a day and nasal spray. Within two months the problem was over but still I am keeping myself from cold and dust.. But now I can play music on my headphone at full sound.

Traveling alone

I traveled to an unknown place for a couple of time and I just don’t' like it. I mean it could be just because of the type of place I go. The last time I went to this unfamiliar place, and I had to stay there for another day and night, that was not on my plan, I ended up renting into a lodging house or something, it was in the heart of a very busy city and hotels are full all the time and I just can't sleep on the streets, I spent too much by just going to a hotel to another hotel and to find out that they are full. It was so frustrating and I was so freaking tired that time, my feet was hurting so bad and I was hungry. A street boy helped me find a place to sleep, though it wasn't what I expected but at least it was enough for me to stay for the night, I didn't sleep at all, it was my worst nightmare.

So traveling alone is a great feeling for me but ending up in a very busy place where you just don't know where to go is just a nightmare. I guess, to avoid these things, you have to plan everything ahead.

Cellphones provide a better way to communicate with other people. I have my own cellphone and I like receiving messages from friends. I save in my inbox all messages which I find nice to read. But somehow, there are also messages which irritates me and I want to delete everytime I will read it.

For so many times I am experiencing receiving text messages which I think is not good. These are the unwanted chain messages that is being forwarded from one mobile phone to another mobile phone. It keeps on saying please pass this message to 5 of your friends or else you will have a badluck for 5 years and many of same kind also. It makes me angry especially if the condition written on the text is that if you not pass this message then your mother will die soon. And some also goes like this "if you love God, you must send this message to all of the people in your phonebook.

Sometimes I do no longer wants reading messages on my phone because most of the times, it was the kind of text I dislike the most. I keep telling on friends not to forward and believe on those but it seems they are afraid if they won't follow what is the instruction on the text. On my own opinion, continuously doing it is just a waste of money and time.

I got to thinking about this today when my sister-in-law called to tell me she had her house. There was a moment, and I do mean a moment-flash second then my ego wanted to hijack my amigdula and cause me to be angry. I will say that in that split second of thought I smiled at myself for being the observer to what the ego was doing and soon it was sent on its way.

However, I've noticed that many people don't watch their thoughts, they believe they are their thoughts. In this, they tend to act out anytime someone around them gains success, is better at something then they are, or perhaps learn a new skill. My thoughts today are why should so many people be so jealous? What does it serve? What does it really get them? Why should they try to bring someone down who has been successful? Why not simply be happy for the other person's success?

Just some thoughts today, and I'd love to hear from you about your experiences and thoughts.

The fact that i know about sleeping eight hours within 24hrs is the more i did not go with because I can"t sleep with that habit. Probably I have a little bit of insomnia. Which the caused of it is my irregular way of sleeping habit. Doing lot of things daily maybe caused of too much stress for me that makes a result of sleepless night. And also our beauty and having a good condition of health may damage of this poor sleeping habit at night, which is the right thing we used to do. And to add more it can cause of dry skin. But somebody told me even we are not having a complete rest at night, encourage ourselves to eat fruits and vegetable drinks plenty of water and take rest at daytime to complete our 8 hrs a day. About two years ago I saw a video and it was like in Africa I think. But for people who have headaches, they cut off a finger to stop thinking about the pain of the headache.....

Again for those who don't believe me that is totally fine but you must have heard of something like this. I respect all cultures but there are some strange things people do.
